Five ways to become happier today

Imagine,  visiting a therapist to discuss how to be happy  rather than how not to be sad!  Tal Ben-Shahar is an author and lecturer at Harvard University. He currently teaches the largest course at Harvard on “Positive Psychology”.  To be perfectly honest I didn’t know that there was an entire movement in psychology focused on happiness but find the prospect totally fascinating.

A snippet from Ben-Shahars website on the subject {below}  and the wonderful video {above} from Big Think to help us move in a lighter,  happier direction!

The goal of positive psychology is not only to overcome depression and negativity, but to ensure that every person has the tools to continue strengthening themselves in positive ways throughout their lives and be able to access happiness from within.

1. Accept painful emotions.. just be human!

2. Spend quality time with those you love.

3. Physical exercise ,  move your body to improve your mood!

4. Cultivate Gratitude.

5.  Simplify!!
